For a while I've been meaning to draw more landscape art. My focus has always been primarily on character design and as a result I feel like I've fallen behind on...well, everything other than character design. So I thought as a fun exercise I'd try and picture a happy place, somewhere peaceful and remote, and put it down on paper as best I could.
I initially imagined this being somewhere out in the Himalayas, and was inspired by images of quaint little Nepalese villages nestled amongst the mountains - but looking at it now I think it could just as easily be the Alps, or North America, or the Scottish Highlands. I suppose it's up to you where you want to put it. I still quite like my first idea.
As always, I'm rubbish at remembering to take work-in-progress pictures, but here's a snap of the little cottage that I posted to my Instagram. That's about all you're getting, I'm afraid.
In other news, I'm going to be taking part in Inktober starting this Sunday. God only knows if I'll be able to keep up with it this year. I didn't manage it last year, and then I didn't have a) a commission to work on, and b) a trip to Athens booked. So this time I'll probably wind up pushing myself so hard that by the time Halloween comes round I'll actually be hallucinating spoopy ghosts and skeletons.
Wish me luck, I guess.
