So what with the last week being spent a) frantically finalising the long-awaited album, and b) trying not to make a complete fool of myself at my new job, I haven't been left with much room to do arty things (it feels like I've been saying something to that effect every week for about a month now...)
You may recall a warm-up sketch of an alien playing a Telecaster from a couple weeks back. I thought I'd put him in colour, and give him a few bandmates while I was at it. Originally it was going to be a five-piece, with a keyboardist and a lead singer, but it's had to remain as a trio for now since I want to move on to bigger and better things.
Introducing Stephen Cheesestring on the bass guitar, Wwrrllkpaokdjbjhsgbgukfggyutrk34y2rnl,zlkljda;ishvalubv (a.k.a. Stringy Pete) on the drums, and the one and only Xarflakk Magillicutty on the Space Telecaster
I'm planning on popping all three of these chaps up as stickers or something on my Redbubble, so keep an eye out for that.
Now, as for the aforementioned "bigger and better things"...I want to start adding some more sophisticated work to my portfolio. I'm going to spend the next few weeks working on a few large-scale pieces. I want to get better at landscapes and backgrounds, and improve my digital colouring skills. Hopefully if I work hard enough I'll be able to push myself up to the next level of my illustration game.
Additionally, with the conclusion of the fabled album comes another TOP SECRET long-term project on which I've already begun work (no, it's not the webcomic - that's been on ice for a while now.) It will involve some drawing, though, so hopefully I'll be able to share some of that when I get round to it.
No rest for the wicked, amirite?
