The Bowser Bop

May 18, 2017

I've done a cool new T-shirt design based on yet another terrible pun, and a mash-up of two of my favourite massively over-referenced pop culture artefacts. The much sought-after and critically acclaimed "Hey Ho, Let's-a Go" shirt is available on my Redbubble as usual, and if for some reason you don't like shirts and would rather go naked you can get it on a mug or a sticker or whatever.

The story behind this design is as embarrassing as it is cringeworthy. It comes from a dorky little band I started in my teens, when I was mostly writing goofy pop-punk songs about unattainable women and debilitating social anxiety (you know, as opposed to writing goofy Bruce Springsteen knock-offs about unattainable women and debilitating social anxiety, like I do now.)

The original design, from back before I could draw

One or two of our songs were okay (I almost re-recorded some of them a couple years ago) but I think our greatest achievement was a cover of the original Pokémon theme tune, which I keep on my iPod to this day.

I was such a dweeb even I wish I could go back in time and steal my own lunch money.
